Chris Wood winner sinks Blackburn

All Whites skipper Chris Wood's late header has sent Leeds through to the League Cup fourth round with a 1-0 win over Championship rivals Blackburn.

Wood broke the deadlock in Leeds' victory over Rovers seven days ago and he came off the bench to settle the cup clash with his sixth goal of the season.

Wood, who took the field in the 71st minute, struck six minutes from full-time when Pablo Hernandez's shot from the edge of the area was saved by Rovers keeper David Raya.

Leeds forward Kemar Roofe scuffed the rebound, but Wood headed home from close range at the second attempt for his sixth goal of the season.
