English Premier League power rankings - week seven

Spurs celebrate after a goal against Chelsea (Getty file)

10. Bournemouth - They've beaten Everton and now secured a point at Watford in a 2-2 draw, positive stuff from Bournemouth.

9. Southampton - They are now unbeaten in three matches after a 0-0 draw with defending champions Leicester,

8. Manchester United - A 1-1 draw at home to Stoke is about as disappointing as they come for the Red Devils.

7. Crystal Palace - Palace are quietly picking up points and have lost just two matches on their way to sitting eighth on the ladder.

6. Chelsea - After back to back losses, Chelsea really just needed to win in whatever way possible and their 2-0 victory over Hull won't have anyone trembling in their boots, but it was an important drought breaker.

5. Everton - Before I start on Everton, can I just say how much I love Friday Night Football (Saturday morning here)? Brilliant. As for Everton, well their 1-1 draw was a disappointing result but Palace are by no means a pushover and the Blues are still fifth.

4. Liverpool - The Reds were not at their best in a 2-1 win over Swansea, but you know what? This is a match which says more about the Reds than if they'd thrashed them 4-0. It says they are tough, and can win ugly. I would not have been surprised if they'd lost after a performance like that but they are now fourth and looking an outside title contender.

3. Arsenal - After an awful few matches to start the season, the Gunners are riding a five game winning streak and, perhaps, on another day could be higher up this list. They beat Burnley 1-0 though, which is not all that impressive, but it still sees them occupying third.

2. Manchester City - City suffered a rare loss and that means a rare drop down the Power Rankings. It's hardly panic stations given they are still top of the league but it's nice to see they are beatable after all.

1. Tottenham - Spurs are now the only unbeaten side in the league after toppling Manchester City 2-0. That's quite a result given City had won every previous match. It was an impressive performance from Spurs and they were fully deserving of the points.
