Kiwi doubles pairing Michael Venus and Croatian Mate Pavic have beaten the top seeds and current Australian Open and US Open champions, Brazilians Bruno Soares ranked No.2 in the world and Marcelo Melo the world No.7, to reach the final of the ATP tournament in Stockholm.

The 6-2 6-4 semifinal win took just over an hour - Venus and Pavic breaking their opponents serve three times out of seven opportunities, while the Brazilians had five break points against the Kiwi and Croat team but couldn’t convert.

Venus and Pavic have won four ATP doubles titles this year – Auckland, Montpellier, Marseille and Hertogenbosch. They have been finalists in Metz, Gstaad and Nice.

Venus is currently ranked 38 in the world, one off his career-best.
