A streaker who interrupted the game between Taranaki and Tasman at Yarrow Stadium on Sunday has received a two-year ban from any rugby game at the venue.

Charl Jacobs made it the length of the field in just a pair of black socks and dived under the posts to score an imaginary try before he was arrested, given a formal warning and ejected from the stadium.

Sergeant Pat Duffy said that it was imperative that a message be sent to potential streakers as such an act could jeopardise future Test matches at the venue, adding that the actions weren't appropriate for a family event.

The Mitre 10 Cup Semi-final was a tense affair, with the visitors claiming a 41-29 victory.
