Flying winger Rieko Ioane is excited at the opportunity to play alongside his brother for the Maori All Blacks against the USA on Saturday - as long as his doesn't hog the ball.

Akira Ioane and Rieko have been named to start against the John Mitchell coached Eagles and Rieko has joked that he never sees the ball when they play together.

"If I get the ball then it's pretty cool, but I hardly ever do when I am playing with him," he said.

"No. It's awesome playing with my brother. You have that special something going on so yeah it's good."

Rieko, who is one four All Black squad members to be released to play the game, said the transition into the Maori side has been easy thanks to his teammates.

"The boys have been pretty helpful  everything has been pretty smooth and I guess it's more time to play some more code, and show the coaches what I can do."

"Just getting some game time at that next level can only be positive for me."

Akira was slightly more flattering in describing the talents of his younger brother.

"It's always good to play with him  he does some pretty crazy stuff."

Tawera Kerr-Barlow, Elliot Dixon and Damian McKenzie have also been selected for the match.
