Hayden Paddon and co-driver John Kennard have set a very specific goal for this weekend's Rally Australia: putting together their perfect performance in the final event of the season.

The goal is another victory - and a chance of second place in the World Championship.

Rally Australia is as close to the WRC gets to New Zealand, meaning Paddon has adopted the event as his own.

This weekend Paddon and Kennard are chasing a perfect finish to what has been a breakthrough season for the 29-year-old, becoming the first Kiwi to win a round of the WRC.

Multiple world champion, Sebastian Ogier, wrapped up the title a month ago, but now with his Volkswagen team deciding to quit the championship, the Frenchman is a hot property, with both Ford and Citroen keen to sign the four time champion.

Paddon however is safe in the knowledge that for the short-term at least, his future is secured with two years left on his contract with Hyundai.

Right now his only focus is the roads of Coffs Harbour and in his own words putting together that perfect performance, which could secure third or possibly second place in the drivers championship.
