The All Blacks have survived a brutal encounter in Paris coming out on top 24-19.

The home side produced an inspired first-half performance dominating possession and territory but it was the visitors who somehow found themselves in front 10-6 heading into the sheds thanks to an Israel Dagg try.

The All Blacks scored two further tries in the second 40 – an intercept by Beauden Barrett when the French were hot on attack and a powerhouse effort from Charlie Faumuina.

The All Blacks looked comfortable with 20 minutes to go – leading 24-9. And while French teams of the past would fade away, this Guy Noves France wouldn't lie down with Louis Picamoles taking the ball from a quick tap and burrowing over.

When France's diminutive halfback slotted a penalty goal with four minutes to go, a monumental upset looked brewing.

However the All Blacks showed their class in the last three minutes to hold onto the ball and close out the match.
