Veteran Wladimir Klitschko has received special clearance from the World Boxing Association to fight Brit Anthony Joshua for the WBA World Super Heavyweight title with the fight likely to take place in mid 2017.
Speculation swirled earlier last month that a Klitschko, Joshua fight was to take place on December 10 in the UK or Europe however, the Ukrainian pulled out of the fight.
The fight will only take place should Anthony Joshua defend his IBF belt in Manchester against Texan Eric Molina in December.
The development isn't expected to impact Kiwi Joseph Parker's quest for the WBO Heavyweight title against Andy Ruiz set to also take place on December 10.
