High Performance Sport New Zealand has announced its latest round of funding with 35 million dollars dished out for 2017.
The big winners are sailing, which is up NZ$250,000, and athletics, which has a NZ$375,000 upgrade after bringing home a stack of medals from the Rio Olympics.
Fellow Tier One sports rowing and cycling are down 200,000 and 500,000 respectively.
Other big losers are triathlon, swimming, men's sevens, and women's football, while there are significant increases for canoe racing and slalom and Paralympics.
It's a big blow to cycling especially, who still have several world-class athletes, but HPSNZ boss Alex Baumann's making no apologies after poor performances in Rio.
"They have some great talent – they will have to cut their cloth accordingly – they remain Tier One sports but we do feel a cut was warranted."
