Sydney Roosters prop Dylan Napa was hospitalised after a vicious brawl broke out at a charity party on Saturday night.
It is unknown how Napa became involved in the fight, but the Roosters say they are aware the incident occurred, and invited the NRL to investigate.
"The club has advised the NRL Integrity Unit, and will be making no further comment at this time," the club said in a statement.
One report says the 24-year-old stepped in when an altercation erupted between a man and a younger woman, with all three taken to Mona Vale Hospital for medical treatment.
Neighbours told reporters they heard screaming coming from the party, which is held annually to raise money for the Vasculitis Foundation, at about 3am.
