Cory Jane backs Ben Smith's decision to stay in New Zealand

Cory Jane admits his time in the All Blacks jersey is 'gone' but is backing Ben Smith's reported decision to extend his stay in New Zealand, while offering an update on Israel Dagg's contractual status.

French media reported this morning that Smith would turn down an offer from Pau, and re-sign with NZR, and Jane says he's still got plenty of time in the black jersey in front of him.

"He's going to be in the All Blacks for the next few years, he's bloody good," Jane said.

"It's the same thing with Izzy [Dagg], I don't know what's happening with him," Jane added, before winking at the camera.

"If he stays, they both played brilliant last season and so they've both got a couple of years where they can fulfill their All Black dreams.

"The money, or the opportunity to try a different team is going to be there in a couple of years just like it is for them now."

When pressed to add if he knew anything as to Dagg's future, Jane joked, "He's going to the moon, there's a rugby team on the moon he's going to."
