Usain Bolt has said he's not angry at former teammate Nesta Carter after the 31-year-old failed a drugs test culminating in Bolt having to return one of his relay Olympic gold medals.
Speaking for the first time since the decision, Bolt was surprisingly relaxed about losing the medal.
"I wasn't pleased - nobody would be pleased over the years to lose a medal," Bolt said.
"It's just one of those things - things happen. I'm not happy about it but what can I say?"
The stripping of the medal is a slight blemish on an otherwise perfect Olympic record for Bolt.
It also means he doesn't finish with a career achievement of winning gold in three events at three Olympics, also known as the "triple triple".
The 30-year-old was adamant it wouldn't impact his legacy.
"Personally I don't think it should [damage my legacy].
"I've worked hard over the years. I've shown my dominance throughout the years. I think by losing one medal that shouldn't be a problem… Because I've done individual events and I've won all three [gold medals] at three Olympics so, really what can I say?"
Bolt even said he'd consider funding Carter's appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport should it come to it
"That's up to my management. There are a lot of variables so we will discuss that and see where we go from there, but if it's necessary [then I will help]."
Jamaica doesn't have the greatest track record in doping violations with the entire board of the Jamaican Anti-Doping Commission resigning back in 2013 after Jamaican athletes returned eight positive drug cases, six of them in athletics throughout the year.
