Paralympic swimmer Sophie Pascoe earns Laureus Sports Awards nomination

New Zealander Sophie Pascoe has earned an invite to the Laureus World Sports Awards in Monaco next month.

The outstanding swimmer is one of six finalists in the sportsperson with a disability category, after her remarkable haul of three gold and two silver medals at the Rio Paralympics.

The 23-year-old from Christchurch will join the likes of other nominees Leicester City, Usain Bolt, the Iceland national football side, Stephan Curry and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The ceremony will take place on February 14.
