Video: Serena Williams casts doubts on playing at ASB Classic again after Madison Brengle loss

It’s unlikely that we'll see Serena Williams back at the ASB Classic after the world number two called the Auckland conditions the least favourable she's played in.

A frustrated Williams lost a three-set thriller to fellow American Madison Brengle 6-4 6-7 6-4 and the 35-year-old pulled no punches in her post match press-conference.

"They're probably my least favourite conditions I've ever played in to be honest," Williams told journalists.

"I really abhorred the conditions, they were just way too much for me."

Williams made 88 unforced errors en-route to the shock loss but said she had no desire to review it, suggesting that she's unlikely to encounter conditions like this again.

"I can just take solace in the fact that the conditions won't be like this in Melbourne. This is not a great opportunity to even assess my game to be honest."

Williams tried not to take anything away from Brengle, however brought conditions during her warm-up into question.

"Again my opponent played in the exact same conditions. I think she was able to adjust better than me.

"I had a less than spectacular warm up but at this rate, at least I can get out of these conditions and get to somewhere better with some warm weather too."
