Colleges around the United States are in the process of signing the best high school football talent in the country and today Illinois State have garnered headlines with the acquisition of Kansas born Kobe Buffalomeat.
The giant offensive lineman, standing 6-foot-7 and just a touch over 140kgs has made headlines with his name, but his ability will also draw attention as his college career progresses.
Lead recruiter for Illinois State, Lamar Conrad expects big things from Buffalomeat.
"He has some work to do in the weight room, continue development, but we think he could be a very special player," he said.
Buffalomeat gave up football in 2014 to pursue a potential college basketball scholarship, but ultimately returned to the gridiron in 2016 and has been turning heads ever since.
