Former Wallabies coach Bob Dwyer said it would have taken the All Blacks one or two tackles to sort out the tactics used by the Italians against England in last week's Six Nations match.
England Rugby has come under fire since being nearly outwitted by an Italian side that refused to engage in rucks in their Six Nations clash last weekend.
Eventually running out rather comfortable winners, it wasn't until late in the second half that England figured out how to deal with the tactic.
When it came to who would have coped better with the tactics, Dwyer was adamant that the All Blacks possessed the direct and fast game style to take advantage of the lack of bodies around the ruck.
"Against a team like New Zealand - where every player is schooled to keep going forward interminably, and to do it with urgency - if you don't have people in behind the tackle they will hit through it so hard and fast that they rip you apart," Dwyer told the Rugby Paper.
England is fast approaching the All Blacks world record of tier one wins, sitting on 17 with two matches to play in the Six Nations.
While they haven't played the All Blacks and aren't set to until 2018, Dwyer - who coached the Wallabies side that won the 1991 Rugby World Cup - was pretty certain of who would win if the two sides met today.
"With New Zealand there is no old-fashioned scrum-half play where they take their time to get set before launching the next wave of an attack.
"They are mad dogs, and are working to get into a position to expose you. They might open up the English defence if the referee insists on fast ball and they can't slow it down."
Dwyer cited the sheer number of world-class players which would ultimately be the difference.
"Brodie Retallick is more effective and damaging than any of the England locks. Jerome Kaino is a very good blindside and although Maro Itoje is promising he would have to be at his very best to be his equal.
"Are Ben Youngs or Danny Care as good scrum-halves as Aaron Smith, TJ Perenara, or Tawera Kerr-Barlow? Probably not.
"Is Beauden Barrett a better 10 than George Ford? Yes. Mike Brown and Ben Smith are both pretty good full-backs, but Smith is that bit better.
"The England midfield is coming on well, but you wouldn't want to line up Owen Farrell one-on-one against Malakai Fekitoa."
Dwyer said that should England set a new world record for tier one wins, it would be a great achievement but maintained that the fact they hadn't played the All Blacks during the streak was significant.
