The Blackcaps fast bowling stocks have suffered another blow with Tim Southee ruled of the third Test against South Africa.
Following discomfort during the second test loss at the Basin Reserve, Southee was sent for a scan on Thursday which showed he'd suffered a grade one tear of his left hamstring.
While only a minor tear, he will not be fit for the upcoming match beginning Saturday.
No replacement will be added to the current squad, with Trent Boult expected to be cleared to play after missing the second Test.
