Promising winger James Lowe will head to Irish club Leinster at the end of the year, becoming the second high profile Chief alongside Aaron Cruden to depart New Zealand's shores in 2017.
Signing a three-year-deal starting, Lowe has enjoyed an unblemished first two rounds of his Super Rugby season.
The 24-year-old said it wasn't an easy decision, citing an inability to crack the All Blacks side for his departure.
"It is with a heavy heart that today I announce I will be leaving New Zealand at the end of the year to play rugby abroad," Lowe said.
"For as long as I can remember I have wanted to be an All Black, but at this stage of my life and for my future, I feel this is the best decision for me. Leinster are a very competitive side and I am looking forward to challenging myself in another professional environment."
Lowe made his Super Rugby debut in 2014, scoring 18 tries in 39 appearances for the Chiefs as well as played five matches for the Maori All Blacks on the end of season tour to the northern hemisphere in 2016.
Lowe will play the 2017 Mitre 10 Cup campaign with Tasman before leaving for Ireland.
He'll join former New Zealand-based players Isa Nacewa, Jamison Gibson-Park and Hayden Triggs at Leinster where Ireland first-five Johnny Sexton also plies his trade.
This week Leinster also signed Australian international Scott Fardy.
