Hurricanes coach Chris Boyd will look for more from his side after naming stars Dane Coles, Beauden Barrett and Nehe Milner-Skudder to play the Rebels in the first home game of the season.

The inclusions are three of four personnel changes to the team that walloped the Sunwolves by 66 points with Reed Prinsep slotting in for Blade Thompson who dislocated his shoulder in the Tokyo match.

They also mean that Ricky Riccitelli, Otere Black and prodigy Jordie Barrett move back to the bench.

Boyd said the changes were always going to occur and weren't related to anything from their opening Super Rugby match.

"Dane and Beauden were always going to come back into the starting team and Nehe would have started round one if he'd been fit, so the selections certainly aren't form related.

"Blade Thomson dislocated his shoulder in Japan and is having scans to determine the severity of his injury, so Reed gets an early chance to stake a claim at the back of the scrum."

The Hurricanes will look to continue a good run against the Rebels, having only been beaten once in five matches with their only loss to the Melbourne franchise coming in 2011.
