Video: NHL players engage in friendliest fight in hockey history

By Logan Swinkels

The San Jose Sharks are an entertaining hockey team to watch - not only because they're strong contenders to win the NHL's Stanley Cup or that their star player Brent Burns has the facial hair game of Chewbecca - but they're a group of likeable characters.

Defender Brenden Dillon is one such character.

In a recent game against the Nashville Predators, San Jose's video team had Dillon mic'd up. Typically this practice yields hilarious results, capturing a side of the game fans don't often experience, but this time the microphone captured a moment that shows this hockey player's softer side.

Dillon drops the gloves with Nashville's Austin Watson and while the fight itself wasn't anything spectacular, the exchange between the two is a great example of the popular stereotype that all Canadians are friendly and polite.

Once the fight is broken up and both players are sitting in the penalty box trying to catch their breath, Dillon can be heard saying "We gotta work on our cardio this summer" to Watson before wishing each other the best of luck for the remainder of the season.

Watch the video above to see the friendliest hockey fight of the year.
