Video: Adrian Lewis hits nine-dart finish in win over Raymond van Barneveld

Adrian Lewis has produced some magic at the Premier League Darts in Liverpool by throwing the first nine-darter of the season.

Leading 2-1 in the fourth leg, Lewis landed two 180s before taking out a 141 checkout with double 12.

A nine-darter is when you throw nine perfect darts in the requisite trebles to check out from 501. It is considered to be the biggest achievement in the sport.

The Stoke thrower went on to win the match 7-4 to pick up his fifth win in the last six matches.

After missing the chance for a nine-dart leg in the last few weeks, Lewis was impressed to land nine perfect darts.

It was Lewis' fifth televised nine-darter as well as his third against Van Barneveld in his career.

"It's really special and a great feeling," said Lewis.

"I've been threatening a nine-darter for the last couple of weeks in the floor tournaments and tonight I was determined not to miss it.

"The nine-darter's great but to get the win was important too. I knew I had to put in a performance and tonight I've come out a champion."
