Video: Connecticut Huskies' lose to Mississippi State, ending historic 111-win streak

The Connecticut Huskies have had their 111-game win streak ended with a 66-64 overtime loss to Mississippi State in the Final Four of the NCAA woman's tournament.

It was the first time since November 2014 the Huskies have lost and the first time since 2012 they won't be crowned national champions.

Last season, the Huskies destroyed the Bulldogs in the Sweet Sixteen 98-38.

Mississippi State came out firing early in the match, leading 29-13, but the Huskies fought their way back into the match and trailed 36-28 at the break.

Connecticut tied the match up at the end of the third and it stayed that way at the end of the fourth, which forced overtime.

The scores were tied with seconds remaining, but Morgan William hit a 15-foot shot to beat the buzzer and secure one of the most historic wins in college sports.

Mississippi State will now play the South Carolina Gamecock, a team it has lost to twice this season, in the championship on Monday (NZT).
