Dan Carter has refuted reports he's set to walk out on his contract with Paris club Racing 92 but indicates that next season will likely be his last in France.
French reports suggested that a return to New Zealand was imminent for Carter who's suffered a form slump in recent months.
"I'm quite happy here," Carter told a French press conference.
"I'm really enjoying the experience of living in France, the people have been extremely kind to me and my family."
Playing alongside former All Blacks Joe Rokocoko and Chris Masoe at Racing, Carter helped the club to the Top 14 title last season.
But the 2016/17 season has been a different beast for Carter with the former All Black enduring a number of off-field issues as well as Racing struggling for on-field success.
And Carter admitted there had been some difficulties.
"Obviously there have been some challenges, the way life is a little bit different to what I'm use to back in New Zealand.
"But we're enjoying those challengers and enjoying new experiences."
While saying that he'll honour his contract with the club, the 35-year-old suggested that he may pull the pin on his French experience after the end of the 2017/18 season.
"I've got a contract with the club until the end of next season so I haven't had any thoughts of running away back to New Zealand at all, really enjoying life here in France."
