Sam Whitelock and Bryn Hall named for Crusaders to play the Chiefs

The Crusaders have continued their rotation policy for the team named to play the Chiefs in Suva on Friday night as they look to extend their unbeaten streak to 12.

In one of two changes to the side that beat the Hurricanes, Bryn Hall swaps into the starting line-up in place of Mitchell Drummond.

The Crusaders have the luxury of welcoming back All Black Sam Whitelock who slots straight into the second-row in place of the injured Scott Barrett and assumes the captaincy. Whitelock is returning from a two week suspension he copped in the Republic for striking.

"He's fresh, real fresh, everyone's trying to pull him back," Crusaders coach Scott Robertson said of Whitelock.

He's an energetic man and he's really clear what he wants out of his group… He's bought a great energy into us this week after watching the last two weeks, he was gutted to miss those two opportunities."

Seta Tamanivalu has been named on the wing and will be accompanied in the squad once again by nephew Manasa Mataele who will come off the bench.

Israel Dagg misses out on a chance to return to Super Rugby, only travelling to Fiji for promotional purposes with the in-form David Havili continuing in his role at the back.
