The Warriors have confirmed that utility back Tuimoala Lolohea has been granted an immediate release from the club.

Lolohea will be free to pursue other options throughout the NRL after being excused from the final season and a half of his contract.

The 22-year-old is thought to already be in the sights of Ivan Cleary and the Wests Tigers, with multiple media outlets across the Tasman suggesting he's on the cusp of signing with the side.

Lolohea farewelled his teammates on Friday and will no longer feature for the Warriors reserve grade team against North Sydney.

"Tui and his management recently asked us for permission to talk to other clubs about a possible move and have since requested an early release from the rest of his contract," said Warriors recruitment and development manager Tony Iro via a statement on Saturday morning.

"We appreciate the service Tui has given the club and wish him all the best."

Lolohea made 52 first-grade appearances for the Auckland-based club, scoring 17 tries.
