Scott Dixon spins out in IndyCar crash at Texas

  • 11/06/2017

Kiwi Scott Dixon has been involved in another IndyCar crash, this time at the Texas Motor Speedway on Sunday (NZ time).

On lap 244, Indianapolis 500 winner Takuma Sato attempted an inside pass of Dixon for second place on the dogleg heading into Turn 1.

But his No. 26 Andretti Autosport Honda clipped the grass and spun, collecting Dixon, Conor Daly and Max Chilton.

Despite the crash, Dixon finished ninth and retained the unofficial championship lead after nine of 17 races with 326 points.

Dixon was involved in a more serious crash two weeks ago at the Indianapolis 500, which saw Dixon's car flip in the air.

The next round of the series is the Grand Prix at Road America on June 25.
