Former All Black lock Jason Eaton is alleged to have been involved in a night-club fracas in France, which local police say was captured on video.

French media report Eaton, who plays for La Rochelle, and former teammate Romana Graham were involved in an early morning fight last week that left one-man badly hurt.

Three French brothers allege the two New Zealanders were looking for a fight.

The seriously injured man is reported to have required urgent eye surgery according to the Sud Quest newspaper.

Police said "Video is being studied and will be used to discern the facts from the fiction, because it seems that everyone involved was drunk".

Sud Ouest reported three French brothers and a friend of the rugby players clashed in the White Rabbit night club about 4am, after there was a crush. The players' friend punched one of the brothers.

Around 5.15am the two groups came across each other again in the street when the alleged assault is said to have occurred.
