Lydia Ko drops to fifth on women's world golf rankings

Struggling Kiwi golfer Lydia Ko has slumped to fifth in the world golf rankings after missing the cut in last week's Scottish Open.

Ko is currently preparing for the year's fourth major, the women's British Open at Kingsbarn, which starts on Thursday night (NZT).

The 20-year old's best finish at the British Open came in 2015 when she finished tied for third. Ko hasn't won an LPGA event for more than a year.

Meanwhile, Kiwi Danny Lee has dropped four places to 85th in the world, while Ryan Fox has fallen outside the top 100, to sit 101st.

Both Lee and Fox will compete at the PGA Championship in North Carolina.

It will be Lee's will be lining up in first major of the year - while Fox will be competing in his second.
