Ryan Fox hoping for good performance at US PGA Championship

With his bank balance and confidence both in good shape, Kiwi golfer Ryan Fox is just days away from teeing off in the last major of the year - the US PGA Championship.

Despite missing the cut at the British Open last month, the 30-year-old is in career-best form, with three top 10 finishes on the European tour in recent weeks seeing him rise to 98th in the World Rankings.

But Fox is hoping he can go big in North Carolina, playing alongside the best in the world.

"To play my first proper professional event in the states is pretty cool," Fox told Newshub.

"I still have a few more goals for the world ranking I hope to try and achieve, but it's still pretty cool to say I've made the top 100 in the world.

"I've played with the best players in the world and on my best day, I'm not too far away, so with a few more years of hard work, I can be up with them on a more consistent basis."

Fox will join fellow New Zealander Danny Lee at Quail Hollow.
