Current Labour MP and former Black Fern Louisa Wall has called on New Zealand to bid for the next women's rugby World Cup tournament.
The first women's World Cup tournament was hosted in 1991 and New Zealand has never hosted the event and Wall wants that changed.
Last month, the Black Ferns won their fifth World Cup, beating England 41-32 in the final and speaking to the AM Show, Wall said it is time we hosted the event.
"It is beyond time we hosted the Women's World Cup," Wall told the AM Show.
"After the victory in Ireland I think the public are crying out for an opportunity to support our girls at home."
The countries which have hosted the Women's World Cup are Wales, Scotland, Netherlands, Spain, Cana, England, France and Ireland.
