Otago have won their first match of the Mitre 10 Cup season, beating Manawatu 40-30 under the roof at Dunedin's Forsyth Barr Stadium.
Winger Jona Nareki scored a hat-trick for Otago as they fought back from a 20-13 halftime deficit against the Turbos.
Manawatu had All Blacks Nehe Milner-Skudder and Ngani Laumapein their squad, but both failed to make a real impact in the match.
Otago will face Hawke's Bay in their next math while Manawatu will face Bay of Plenty.
