Anthony Joshua defeats Carlos Takam by TKO in 10th round to retain world heavyweight title in Cardiff

British boxing star Antony Joshua has defended his three heavyweight belts with a 10th round TKO win over Carlos Takam in front of 74,500 fans at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff.

The 28 year-old suffered a blow to his nose from the head of the Frenchman in the first round, but dominated the fight.

Takam suffered a cut to his face in the fourth round, but was able to carry on till the 10th when the fight was brought to a halt.

The Frenchman was a late call-up after replacing  Kubrat Pulev who had to pull out due injury.

Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn said post the bout his fighter will enter the ring three times in 2018 ,including a bout against Kiwi WBO champion, Joseph Parker.

"AJ's told me he wants the belts. Deontay Wilder against Anthony Joshua has to happen," said Hearn.

"There's also a great heavyweight called Tyson Fury. Anthony Joshua will give you the fights you want. Wilder, Fury, Joseph Parker - they're the 2018 fights.

"I don't think we should go abroad. Anthony Joshua will fight anyone."

Joshua now remains unbeaten in his 20 professional fights.
