Former Chiefs and Waikato prop Ben Tameifuna was allegedly involved in a fight with a Racing 92 club teammate in Paris, according to French media.

French newspaper Le Parisien is reporting that Tameifuna and fellow Racing 92 prop Viliamu Afatia were in a punch-up near the Champs-Elysees just hours after their 20-17 loss to Lyon.

Viliamu Afatia played in the loss to Lyon, but Tameifuna did not feature.

The newspaper claims Afatia was found with his face "bloody and swollen" with a facial fracture by French police and spent the night in hospital - while Tameifuna spent the night in a prison cell.

Afatia will reportedly not press charges over the incident.

Tameifuna is the third New Zealand-born player from Racing 92 to make headlines off the field for the wrong reasons this year.

Former All Blacks first-five Dan Carter was charged for drink-driving in February, while Ali Williams was fined $2300 and convicted of buying cocaine in April along with former Wallabies star James O' Connor.
