Kiwi athletics great Dame Valerie Adams has given birth to her first child.
Adams and her husband Gabriel Price welcomed daughter Kimoana Josephine Adams-Price into the world on Wednesday morning.
The two-time Olympic shot put champion took to social media to share the news.
"Welcome to the world, Kimoana Josephine Adams-Price," she said in a post on Twitter, adding a quote from the track 'The Light' by rapper Common.
The New Zealand Olympic Committee offered their own congratulations via Twitter.
