Manawatu looking to break a 39-year Ranfurly Shield drought against Taranaki

It's 39 long years since Manawatu held the Ranfurly Shield - and they get a chance to end the drought tomorrow night.

They face holders Taranaki - who took the Log O' Wood off Canterbury just four days ago - leaving them in danger of setting a new record for the shortest tenure in shield history.

Manawatu's aided by the return of one of their All Blacks hoping he can boost the Turbos to their own piece of history.
