All Blacks attend ceremony at Arc de Triomphe to commemorate fallen soldiers

The All Blacks will wear the RSA poppy on their sleeves when they play France on Armistice Day this weekend.

A number of players attended a wreath-laying ceremony at Arc de Triomphe on Thursday morning (NZ time) - the ceremony happens every night to commemorate fallen soldiers.

One of the players in attendance was lock Sam Whitelock, who called it a privilege.

"It is very humbling to be a part of a ceremony like this that has happened every day and has happened since 1920, so to be a part of is very humbling for myself and the All Blacks as well.

"My grandfather served in the Pacific in World War II, and lot of family history sprinkled through a number of the wars."

The All Blacks play France on Sunday morning in Paris at 8:45am (NZ time).
