All Blacks captain Kieran Read aiming for complete performance against France

All Blacks captain Kieran Read is after a complete performance when the All Blacks face France in Paris on Sunday morning (NZ time).

Following their 57-0 win over South Africa, Read admits the All Blacks have been somewhat below their best.

They will be hoping to get things back on track against France, who have not beaten the world champions since 2009.

Plus, France are fielding a very youthful, inexperienced side, which has four uncapped players starting and two on the bench.

Speaking to the media at the captains run, Read said a number of players have something to prove as they aim to finish the year in style.

"I think the good thing is that you work hard on the things you didn't quite get right when you come off a loss. I guess the guys who were involved in [the loss to] Australia are hurting because they haven't had a shot yet.

"We want to go out there and play really well. It's a performance we're after. We haven't had a great performance for 80 minutes since the middle of the championship [in Albany].

"Our main objective is to go out there and play well. You're not necessarily going to score heaps of tries or blow teams off the park, but you've got to have a really good attitude. If we can see that I'm sure we'll do well."

Along with putting in a solid performance, Read wants his team to honour the country's war victims with a win on Armistice Day.

The All Blacks will wear the RSA New Zealand poppy on their sleeve when they take the field at Stade de France.

"It's a great day to be playing rugby - Armistice Day - and it's really important for us to put in a good showing.

"A lot of New Zealanders lost their lives and a lot of them are still [buried] here in France. We really want to respect that and we're looking forward to it."
