Blockbusting midfielder Mathieu Bastareaud will play for France or the first time in two years when the French host the All Blacks on Sunday morning (NZ time).

The 29-year-old's last France appearance was in October 2015 in the humiliating 62-13 World Cup quarter-final thrashing at the hands of New Zealand.

Bastareaud will partner uncapped La Rochelle centre Geoffrey Doumayrou.

"We've got some maturity in midfield with Mathieu, and some speed and ardour with Geoffrey, this is what we call a good balance," coach Guy Noves said on Friday (NZ time). "Will it be enough? Let's see."

Three other uncapped players will start against the All Blacks; first-five Anthony Belleau, flanker Judicael Cancoriet, and lock Paul Gabrillagues, while Raphael Chaume and Anthony Jelonch could make their debuts from the bench.
