Peruvian witch doctors have been filmed placing a curse on the All Whites ahead of their pivotal match in a video posted to social media.
The passionate Peru fans can be seen stomping on a photo of the All Whites while holding a snake and chanting.
And there are signs the curse may have worked - the All Whites team bus got stuck in the tunnel of the stadium as the players arrived for the captains run.
Only time will tell as the weight of expectation on the Peruvian side will be enormous on Thursday, having not qualified for the World Cup finals since 1982.
The All Whites need to win or score at least one goal in a draw in order to proceed to the World Cup in Russia next year.
