Yoann Maestri to lead strong French XV squad to face All Blacks in Lyon

Yoann Maestri will captain the French XV in their clash against the All Blacks in Lyon on Wednesday (NZ time).

The lock has been capped 59 times by France will lead an experienced side which includes first-five Francois Trinh-Duc,  Maxime Mahcenaud and Scott Spedding.

Meanwhile, the All Blacks have named a very inexperienced squad which features six new All Blacks and nine uncapped players.

Despite facing a young squad, fullback Spedding is still expecting a tough battle.

"We know we are playing against a strong New Zealand side," Spedding told Newshub.

"All these guys are in the All Blacks squad for a reason. They are also looking to put up their hands to show what they can offer.

"There is a lot to play for tomorrow night and of course playing against the All Blacks is a massive privilege." 

After the match, the All Blacks will travel to Edinburgh where they will face Scotland for the first time since 2014, when they won 24-16.
