EPL wrap: Tottenham stun Manchester United, Chelsea crumble against Bournemouth

Tottenham Hotspur solidified their top-four credentials with a dominant 2-0 win over Manchester United in front of a record Premier League crowd at Wembley on Wednesday.

Christian Eriksen gave the hosts the lead after 11 seconds, the third fastest goal in Premier League history.

United's woeful defending was exposed again for Tottenham's second, Phil Jones turning the ball into his own net after 27 minutes.

The win lifted Tottenham two points behind third-placed Liverpool and Chelsea in fourth.

Pep Guardiola's rampant City took care of relegation-threatened West Brom in a 3-0 win at the Etihad Stadium.

Goals from Fernandinho, Kevin De Bruyne and Sergio Aguero wrapped up the win which saw them open a 15-point gap over second-placed United.

At Stamford Bridge, Bournemouth stunned Chelsea 3-0 as they climbed to 10th in the Premiership.

Callum Wilson opened the scoring for Eddie Howe's men in the 51st minute with Junior Stanislas (64th) and Nathan Ake (67th) compounding the home team's misery with further goals.

At St Mary's, Matt Ryan earned his team a point in Brighton's 1-1 away draw against Southampton who dominated proceedings.

Brighton went ahead through a Glenn Murray penalty in the 14th minute only for Jack Stephens to beat the Socceroos goalkeeper for the equaliser in the 64th minute.

Home team Newcastle fought out a 1-1 draw with Burnley at St James Park where Jamaal Laschelles gave the Geordies the lead in the 65th minute.

But the locals' joy was shortlived when Sam Vokes equalised with five minutes remaining.

At Goodison Park, Theo Walcott scored twice in his second appearance for Everton as they beat Leicester City 2-1.

Jamie Vardy scored for City from the penalty spot to reduce the deficit which set up for a tense finale as the visitors struck the woodwork twice in search for an equaliser.

Stoke City and Watford played to a goalless draw.
