All Blacks loose forward Jerome Kaino is being tipped to head to France at the conclusion of the Super Rugby season.

The 34-year-old was linked to a move to glamour club Toulon last year, but following the departure of Springbok Duane Vermeulen, talks of Kaino's arrival have once again heated up.

Club president Mourad Boudjellal said they will announce "an international-level player in the next 48 hours" after Vermeulen was released by the French team.

Kaino's management team confirmed to Newshub in December that Toulon is "one of a number of clubs" who've enquired about his availability.

Kaino's coming off contract this year, and told Newshub on Wednesday that his focus is on the Blues.

"I really want to perform well and get the Blues to where we used to be and where we should be," Kaino said.

"All I've been thinking about is getting in there with the boys and performing well."

The two-time World Cup winner has found himself on the outer with the All Blacks through the international season in 2017, struggling to recapture his starting spot after taking a break to deal with some personal issues, which saw Liam Squire and Vaea Fifita ahead of him in the All Blacks pecking order.
