The Wests Tigers have entered the race for the signature of Warriors captain Roger Tuivasa-Sheck, according to reports out of Sydney.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, the Tigers have expressed interest in Tuivasa-Sheck as they look to replace James Tedesco - who left the club at the end of the 2017 season.

Tui Lolohea will likely play fullback for Wests in 2018, but the Tigers still want a big name star to wear the one jersey in the future.

The newspaper reports that the Sydney club is in talks with Tuivasa-Sheck's management team about joining the team in 2019.

The South Sydney Rabbitohs and Gold Coast Titans have previously expressed their interest in the 24-year-old while his manager has already shut down reports that the Blues and New Zealand Rugby have tried to sign the fullback.

Tuivasa-Sheck joined the Warriors in 2016 after four seasons with the Sydney Roosters.

Warriors chief executive Cameron George remains hopeful Tuivasa-Sheck will re-sign.

"We have had open, honest and frank discussions about what we're trying to achieve and the timeframe in which we could do that," George said last week. "He's a massive part of that for us and he knows that."
