One lucky punter came away $50,000 richer after deciding to remain at a cricket match his friends wanted to leave early.
Rob Ferrari attended the Black Caps' second one-day international against England in Mt Maunganui on Wednesday.
When the ball came soaring towards him, he managed to catch it one-handed and earned himself the significant cash prize through Tui's Catch a Million competition.
"I didn't have time to think about it, just caught it," he told The Project.
He says he'd thought about catching the ball before, especially because three other people have successfully made catches this summer.
"A bit of visualisation helps. You don't want to cop it in the face or look like an idiot."
Mr Ferrari says he had to adopt the "poo stance" in order to snatch the ball out of the air.
His catch was particularly miraculous because his friends wanted them to leave early.
"I was like, 'we may as well hang around, we've sat here through the whole game'. It was lucky we did."
Since becoming $50,000 richer, he admits he had "a few people all of a sudden add me on Facebook".
He says his first purchase will be a car that "accommodates three seats".
