Blackcaps lynchpin Ross Taylor will likely return from injury for Wednesday's must-win match against England.

The 33-year-old missed the third ODI due to a thigh issue, but told media following training on Tuesday that he should be back in the starting line-up in Dunedin.

"Should be fine for tomorrow. It's nice to be ready to play," said Taylor.

"I've had massages on it, acupuncture, stretching and swimming. I got hit during the game in Hamilton, then hit on the same spot in training twice."

Taylor's return will be a welcome one after the New Zealanders struggled with the bat in the previous contest, falling to a heart-wrenching four-run loss in Wellington.

His inclusion will likely mean newcomer Mark Chapman will drop out of the gameday squad.

England currently leads the five-game ODI series 2-1.
