Parker vs Joshua: Heavyweights trim down for unification bout in Cardiff

Anthony Joshua and Joseph Parker have shed the kilos for Sunday's (NZ time) world heavyweight unification title fight in Cardiff.

At the pre-fight weigh-in on Friday (Saturday NZ time), Parker - the WBO champion - weighed in at 107kg, 4kg lighter than his last fight against Hughie Fury in September.

The Kiwi walked onto the stage to a few jeers as supporters welcomed him to the stage with a haka and a Samoan siva.

Joshua, the WBA (Super), IBF and IBO champion weighted in slightly heavier, tipping the scales at 110 kg, over 5kg lighter than for his previous fight against Carlos Takam in October.

After the post weigh-in stare-down, Joshua and Parker shook hands and briefly chatted on the stage.

On Thursday, Parker told the AM Show that he was "angry" at the Brit because he didn't shake his hand at Wednesday's pre-fight press conference.

Around 78,000 fans are expected to pack Principality Stadium for the fight between two unbeaten world champions.
