Parker vs Joshua: Joseph Parker's health comes first for family ahead of Anthony Joshua showdown

When Kiwi boxing sensation Joseph Parker faces up to Anthony Joshua in Cardiff next weekend, his proud parents and brother will be ringside, ready to live every punch as they've done so often in his 24 previous professional fights.

Unbeaten champions Parker and Joshua will unify their WBO, WBA, IBF and IBO belts on April 1 (NZ time) at the Principality Stadium.

Speaking to Newshub, Parker's mother Sala said she would be anxious, but backing her son to win the fight of his life.

"As a mum, you don't feel confident," she said. "I feel sad at times, thinking it's going to be dangerous for him in the ring with Joshua, but coming here and noticing his build-up, his confidence is extreme."
