Winter Olympics bronze medallist Zoi Sadowski-Synnott has missed out on the snowboard slopestyle final at the US Open by the narrowest of margins.

The 17-year-old finished in seventh place in the semi-finals with a score of 70.5 in Colorado.

She missed out on the final by one place with the top six progressing to Saturday's (Sunday NZ time's) final.

It was Sadowski-Synnott's first event since winning bronze in in the big air in PyeongChang last month.

Fellow Kiwi and bronze medallist Carlos Garcia Knight was due to compete in the men's event, but fell during practice yesterday and had had to pull out.

Garcia Knight tore his AC joint in his shoulder, but won't require surgery.
