Footage of Kiwis league stars snorting cocaine emerges

Video has emerged of Kiwis rugby league players Jesse Bromwich and Kevin Proctor apparently snorting cocaine after last year's Anzac Test in Canberra.

The pair were dropped from the team for the 2017 Rugby League World Cup as a result of the incident.

The CCTV footage shows Proctor and Bromwich - the team captain at the time - paying for and snorting a substance off what appears to be a mobile phone.

Australia's ABC channel has published the video as part of its 7.30 show report on a drug syndicate alleged to have supplied product across three different football codes.

The show also interviewed the man who provided cocaine to the NZ players. Adrian Crowther later appeared in court, charged with drug possession, was convicted and fined AUS$5250.

Crowther claimed police shook the players' hands as they left and then took him to the city station for booking. Under ACT state law, possession and supply of drugs is illegal, but use is not.

"They're both really, you know, really top-quality players," Crowther told ABC. "I just wanted to get on it with these guys.

"I thought it was just a great opportunity to carry on drinking with them. They had some lines and we just stood around chatting - they were really drunk."

Both players were suspended and fined by their clubs. Neither have played for New Zealand since.
