Behind the scenes look as New Zealand cheerleaders prepare for world champs

All three of New Zealand's cheerleading teams have earned podium finishes at the World Championships in Florida this weekend.

More than 70 countries were hoping in Orlando vying for a chance to take home the top spot.

Team New Zealand's senior All Girls squad won silver, and both the co-ed and Junior teams snatched up bronze.

It was a stellar showing for the junior team in particular who excelled in their first ever attendance at the competition.

With Cheerleading now recognised as a provisional Olympic sport, there is a chance New Zealand could have a team at the Tokyo Games in 2020.

And the video above proves, their impressive showing In Florida was a culmination of a lot of blood, sweat and tears for the girls and their tribe of dedicated support crew.
